Bill Curtis – First Steps In Becoming A Professional Musician

I was asked to speak at a career fair. At first I said “no, thanks.” I’ve never done public speaking before but I thought about it. It would be a new challenge for me and if can guide some young kid who may be thinking about becoming a musician in the right direction at an early age and save them some of the hardship, it would be worth it. If I could guide him in the way so that he may not encounter those hardships by making bad decisions, again it would be worth it. You see, bad decisions make it harder for you to achieve your goals. I’m only going to speak from life experiences. I don’t think there’s a cookie cut advice that can be given to someone that fits all, but there are some things that must be put in place first; if you want to become a professional musician.
